Haile Plantation, Florida
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Haile Plantation is a 2,600 household (1,700 acre) development of regional impact southwest of the City of Gainesville, within Alachua County. The award-winning Haile Village Center is a traditional neighborhood center within the development.
The Haile Plantation sub-division was a development project started in the late 1980s. In the beginning, the only neighborhoods were Chestnut Hill, Planter's Grove, The Preserve (close to Haile Blvd.), Laurel Park, Evan's Hollow, and Magnolia Walk. At this early time in Haile Plantation, the village was a boat parking lot. Haile Plantation is still in development, but now contains over 9 miles of roadways and 4 main roads (Haile Blvd., 91st St., 44th Av., and 104th Tr.). On July 14, 2005 a new shopping center, the "Publix Market Square" opened at the north end of Haile Plantation. Publix Market Square currently includes a Publix supermarket and several other shops and restaurants. There is also an 18 hole golf course located within Haile Plantation.
