Hai-Sha Ni

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hai-Sha Ni (Chinese:倪海廈 ) is a controversial traditional Chinese medicine doctor and licensed acupuncturist in Merritt Island, FL. He harshly condemns contemporary modern medicine for its damages to patients and passionately promotes a less popular branch of traditional Chinese medicine, Jingfang school(Chinese: 经方派). He claims that his theories and formulas are rooted from Han and Tang dynasty, which is the only authentic Chinese medicine compared to those coming from later Ming and Qing dynasty.

Unlike most other TCM practitioners who are prone to keeping their cases secret, Dr. Ni publishes his medical cases online in Chinese, quite often with explanations of both theories, herb fourmulas as well as acupuncture points applied. His cases are in a form of diary and are very attractive for the alleged striking effectiveness over many unsolved diseases in modern conventional medicine, such as breast cancer, liver cancer, heart disease, kidney failure, epilepsy,Lupus erythematosus, diabetes and so on.

Consisting of benefited patients and educated practitioners, there are a large group of proponents of Dr. Ni. They have volunteered to create two dedicated web sites to promote the theories and methods employed by Dr. Ni, one in mainland China and the other one in Taiwan (see links below). Many other major traditional Chinese medine websites also often cite his online cases as educational examples.[citation needed]

Dr. Ni is an active volunteer in local acupuncture community. He served on the Florida Board of Acupuncture and helped the pass of acupuncture Law in Nebraska. He is also providing free service to poor patients in mainland China with limited quantities through his supporting site in China.

On the other hand, some people suspect Dr. Ni as another quack for his hostile attitude to mainstream medicine practice and his expensive charges for teaching materials.
