Hagen Melzer

Hagen Melzer (born June 16, 1959 in Bautzen) is a former (East) German middle and long distance runner who won the gold medal over 3000m steeplechase at the 1986 European Championships in Athletics in Stuttgart. A year later he won the silver medal at the 1987 World Championships in Athletics in Rome, where he set a national record at 8:10.32 min.
