[edit] Copyright
Please do not copy and paste things from other websites, as you did on Bamiyan Province; that is a copyright violation. Also, when you upload an image, you cannot simply say "Copyrighted, all uses needed". You need to tell us who it is copyrighted BY. I understand that you probably took these photographs, and I am adding that to the license info, this is just a note for in the future, to keep your images from being deleted (We have to be very vigilant about copyrights here). Thank you for contributing! --Golbez 04:37, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
- PS, they are lovely images. :) --Golbez 04:42, 18 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:Akramyari.jpg
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Akramyari.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. bluemask 13:06, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Masoud-gul.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Masoud-gul.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Bkell (talk) 02:33, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Problems with User:Tajik
Please have a look at People of Afghanistan, Hazara. This user is vandalizing by changing population numbers to what he thinks is true rather than what most resources say, etc. Thanx User:hadi1121 11:12, 11 July 2006 (EST)
I can see a possible edit war brewing. Perhaps you should request help from administrators at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard, as I can't help you that much really. Kevin_b_er 01:25, 11 July 2006 (UTC)- Actually, you should probably go to Wikipedia:Dispute resolution if you have a dispute with another editor. Kevin_b_er 01:28, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
- The other thing you can do is list more sources, or say something NPOV like, "Because of a lack of accurate census data, as well as a history of centuries of discrimination, estimates of the size of the Hazara population vary greatly and are highly politicized. Estimates range from a low of 9-15% (CIA Sourcebook) to a high of 20-30% (LOC, BBC).... " etc. Tone is everything with Wikipedia (like a lot of research), just list your sources very meticulously rather than just revert. You'll get further, and be more convincing in the process. Btw, are you a Hazara from Australia? I know the situation there is highly politicized too. Where do you live? You can email me for privacy's sake. Good luck to you and thanks for editing. - I got the same message, it seems that everyone in the recent history of the page has been given it. I NPOVed up the page, but i need a link to the page on the CIA factbook before i can do source checking. (note that i don't even know if the CIA factbook is online) Anyway, can you take further things to the talk page, as edit wars are annoying, and so is the talk page spam. See you around. [edit] Three-Revert Rule
Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly, as you are doing in Hazara. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia under the three-revert rule, which states that nobody may revert a single page more than three times in 24 hours. (Note: this also means editing the page to reinsert an old edit. If the effect of your actions is to revert back, it qualifies as a revert.) Thank you. joturner 02:10, 11 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Bamiyan
Hi Hadi. Let us not indulge outselves in edit wars. I would suggest you read up on the history of the Kushans and Hephthalites. The chinese had names for the peoples on the western frontiers including the Sakae, Tocharioi and sof forth. Today most of this area is Turkic speaking but was primarily indo-european in the past before the westward migration of the Altaic group. It does not mean anyway that these folks were related to the chinese or mongols. There is more than ample scholarship on this subject. Read the articles on Kushans and Hephthalites on wiki as well for starters. goodluck!Omerlives 13:32, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Hazara POV
Hadi, I have noticed that a lot of the edits you have made on Afghan-related pages have included unsourced, non-neutral POV about the treatment of the Hazara people. First off, let me tell you that I coud not agree with you more on this point. However, these types of comments still need to be sourced and confined to appropriate pages or even a page dedicated solely to a History of Hazara Oppression in Afghanistan page (again, provided the information is sourced correctly). After all, every time someone mentions Julius Caesar in an article, they don't always include that Caesar was stabbed on the Ides of March because of his controversial rule. There is a correct place for each piece of information. Thanks, and godspeed! Helmandsare 06:28 (UTC), 4 August 2006.
