Hadji Murad (Russian: Хаджи-Мурат) (late 1790s - April 23 (N.S. May 5), 1852) was an important Caucasian leader during the resistance of the Caucasian peoples in 1711-1864 against the Russian Empire's seizure of the region.
Leo Tolstoy's posthumously published novel Hadji Murat (1912) is a fictionalized account of Murad's struggle with the Russian Empire.
