Hachiman Shrine

Hachiman Shrine (八幡神社 Hachiman Jinja?) (or 八幡宮 Hachiman-guu) is a shinto shrine dedicated to the god Hachiman. It is the second most numerous type of shinto shrines after ones dedicated to Inari. Famous Hachiman Shrines include:
- Usa Shrine (Usa, Ōita) -- Sōhonsha (the head shrine) of Hachiman Shrines.
- Tamukeyama Hachiman Shrine (near Todaiji, Nara, Nara)
- Iwashimizu Shrine (Yawata, Kyoto)
- Tsurugaoka Hachiman Shrine (Kamakura, Kanagawa)
- Hakodate Hachiman Shrine (Hakodate, Hokkaido)
- Morioka Hachiman Shrine (Morioka, Iwate)
- Tomioka Hachiman Shrine (Koto, Tokyo)
- Umi Hachiman Shrine (Umi, Fukuoka)
