From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hack/Slash is a series of comic books published by Devil's Due Productions that has also been adapted into a stage play and as a possible feature film, the focus of the series being a typical horror/slasher victim striking back and hunting slasher monsters.

The property started as a series of one-shots, starting with Hack/Slash (later referred to by its story title Euthanized), followed by Girls Gone Dead (both in 2004), Comic Book Carnage and The Final Revenge of Evil Ernie (both in 2005). The first three were collected into the First Cut trade paperback in 2005.

It received its first mini-series in 2005 called Land of Lost Toys followed by a collection of new short stories in a 2006 special issue called Trailers and a 25 cent preview issue called Slice Hard.

Director Todd Lincoln, writer Martin Schnek, series creator Tim Seeley, and others were present at the 2006 San Diego Comic Convention discussing the upcoming film, expected to be released by Universal Studios in 2007.
