Høle

Høle is a village and former municipality in Rogaland county, Norway.

The municipality was created as Høgsfjord formannskapsdistrikt in 1837. On 1 January 1871 the district Fossan was divided from Høgsfjord to form a municipality of its own. The remaining part of Høgsfjord changed its name to Høle, and had a population of 1,122.

On 1 January 1965 the district Oltesvik with 37 became a part of the new municipality Gjesdal, whereas the rest of Høle, with 926 inhabitants, was incorporated into the neighboring municipality Sandnes.[1].

The village Høle has a population of 335 [2]. It is located in the eastern part of the municipality.
