The Hôtel Concorde Lafayette is a hotel skyscraper located nearby the Porte Maillot in the 17th arr. of Paris, France. It is the largest hotel in Paris and consists in the northern part of Paris' Palais des Congrès, one of the city's Convention centers. It hosts more than 1,000 hotel rooms.
The terrain where it is located used to be a free space hosting Amusement parks during summers. After World War II, temporary buildings have been fastly built there in order to host some services from French ministries. In 1960, facing the international booming in tourist and congress activities, the Chambre de Commerce et d'Industrie and the Tourism Committee decided to build there a convention center.
The selected architects were Henri Guibout, Serge Maloletenkov and Yves Betin. It's in the frame of that study that it was decided to build a large luxury Hotel nearby the congress hall. The tower is the third tallest inside Paris city proper (which is excluding La Défense business district). A tall spire of 53 meters has been displayed on its roof.
