Héctor Almonte

Héctor Almonte (born October 17, 1975 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) is a former relief pitcher in Major League Baseball. From 1999 through 2003, Almonte played for the Florida Marlins (1999), Boston Red Sox (2003[start]) and Montreal Expos (2003[end]). He batted and threw right handed.
In a three-season career, Almonte posted an 1-4 record with a 6.27 ERA and no saves in 50 games pitched.
Almonte currently is a relief pitcher (wearing #22) with the Somerset Patriots in Bridgewater, New Jersey, in the independent Atlantic League. Last year, he finished the season with Saraperos de Saltillo (Saltillo Sarape Makers) in the AAA Mexican Baseball League with a 2-0 record and a 1.54 ERA in ten games pitched. He has played for two seasons with the Yomiuri Giants in Japan.
