[edit] History

Village has been built around 1880 in the Chabičov-town land register, and it has been rated as its colony until 1922. By the unification Chabičov and another town called Smolkov, Háj ve Slezsku officially became an independent town, and the two towns became a colony. Jilešovice and Lhota u Opavy were added to the colony in 1976 and 1979, respectively.

[edit] Trivia

  • For several years the town has celebrated its citizens and people from surrounding areas in an annual festival called Rozmarné léto.
  • Rozmarné léto is also the title of Vančura’s best known novel.
