Girish Menon (also known as Ricky and gyrax) is an independent documentary photographer based in Bombay, India. He first picked up a camera at the age of 14 but turned pro only at the age of 22. In the mean time, he acquired a degree in Physics and spent two whole years after graduation as a PHP programmer. Whilst his assignments took him to many places in India, he soon realized that he wasn’t doing it for the money or job satisfaction but the wanderlust that lingers within him.

He gave up a career in computer programming for photography. A year long course in photo-journalism at one of India’s premier photography institute, the Shari Academy in Mumbai (once Bombay) set his career rolling… exhibitions in Bangalore and Bombay as soon as the course ended. Girish specializes in portraiture and has a great flair for concert photography.
