Gynarchy

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gynarchy is a form of government in which all rulers are, by default, women. It is also sometimes applied to scenarios where the final authority is female, regardless of formalities. Rulers who happen to be women, through a conventional Democratic process or line of male succession, are not considered to be part of a Gynarchy.

Womyn is a term sometimes used to refer to the ruling Women in a Gynarchy.

Gynarchy tends to be related to Female Superiority.

The goal may be to eradicate males entirely or merely to view males as an objectively inferior and thus less priveliged subclass of society. Various Gynarchy models differ as to the prescribed treatment of men.

Gynarchy concepts often appear in parodies, both of Male bigotry and of Feminist Extremism (The Worm That Turned).

The concept of Courtly Love has shades of Gynarchy to it.
