Gyakuten Saiban 4 (逆転裁判 4 Turnabout Courtroom 4?) is an attorney simulation video game for the Nintendo DS. It is the fourth video game in the Gyakuten Saiban series (Phoenix Wright in America). Despite misconceptions caused by an IGN article, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice for All is not the new Gyakuten Saiban 4, but is rather a remake of Gyakuten Saiban 2. Gyakuten Saiban 4 is a new entry as opposed to a remake.
Gyakuten Saiban 4 (which takes place chronologically seven years after Gyakuten Saiban 3) will be the first game in the series that will not feature Phoenix Wright (Naruhodō Ryūichi in Japanese) as the main character, though it won't be the first time a different attorney will be playable. Rather, the new main attorney is named Hōsuke Odoroki, a 22-year-old lawyer fresh out of school. Not much is known about him, though the recently revealed trailer from the Tokyo Game Show reveals that he seems much more confident than Phoenix. His legal partner is a magician named Minuki, and his mentor is named Garyū Kirihito. Not much more is known about them at this time.
Recently, it was shown that some characters from Gyakuten Saiban 1–3 will make reappearances. Both the Judge and Winston Payne have been seen, and it was confirmed at the Tokyo Game Show that Phoenix himself will be the defendant in the very first case.
