Guy Michelmore

Guy Michelmore is a British composer and television news presenter.

Michelmore joined the BBC program Newsroom South East in 1993. Guy left the programme to be replaced by Tim Ewart from ITN. His father is Cliff Michelmore, from the 1960s News programme on BBC1, 24 Hours, who once interviewed himself, and asked whether either his son or daughter had shown any interest in television - Cliff answered by saying that ten year-old Guy was "at that point where he is fascinated and interested in all things...even his father's job!"

He famously spilt his drink all over himself and desk before going into a live link on Newsroom South East shown on BBC's Auntie Bloomers (Out-Takes show). The now infamous Paxton pictures was shown by a colleague to which he replied "I loved to be in the police station when they showed them that picture" caused this incident. [1]

After leaving the BBC, Michelmore contunied his career as a composer for television and films. He won the award for Best Music at the International Wildlife Film Festioval for "Tale of the Tides", nominated for a Wildscfreen Award for "Mzima: Haunt of the River Horse" and "Queen of Trees". He also won the Slate Award for Best Score for the UK feature film “Fly Fishing”. He has more recently scored four films for Marvel and Lionsgate including Iron Man, Ultimate Avengers and Dr Strange as well as the EMMY Award winning series Tutenstein and Growing Up Creepie. He also runs the world's largest course for film and televsion composers, Music for the Media.
