This article is currently about two entirely different topics: the abbrevitation for "drops" in pharmacy, and an architectural feature. Shouldn't this be split into two articles? Alynna 17:22, 9 September 2005 (UTC)

Since the abbreviation is an applied use of the architectural term, it is useful here. It's pretty much all there is to say about the abbreviation anyway. Maybe a list of common (not hallowed) medical abbreviations could link to this article by mentioning the metaphorical origins of using gtt. to mean drops. As I understand it, the medical abbreviation isn't from the architectural term. Both the terms are from the Latin word for "drops". Oh, and I only moved this because it seemed like both terms were used mostly if not exclusively in the plural. I didn't mean to violate Wikipedia policy, sorry. --Alynna 04:36, 4 October 2005 (UTC)
