Gush was a free cross-platform instant messaging client supporting the Jabber protocol. Gush used Adobe Flash as it's programming framework. It was designed to emulate a "desktop" interface and, besides it's traditional instant messaging functionality, included a newsreader and picture browser in an aesthetically pleasing environment. Gush was advertised as being secure, full featured, and simple. As of May 2006, the Gush client is no longer available for download from its creators, who have been hired by Google and are now spending their time on projects there, according to the 2Entwine web site.
