Gurban Gurbanov

Gurban Gurbanov (born April 13, 1972) is a football striker from Azerbaijan. He debuted for the national team in their very first match on September 17, 1992, and as of January 2006 he has scored 12 goals in 65 international matches. This is the national team goalscoring record.

He started his career in Dashgyn, and has since played for Kur-Nur, Mertskhali, FK Turan, PFC Neftchi, Dinamo Stavropol, Baltika Kaliningrad, Fakel Voronezh and PFC Neftchi in his home country. The last club he played for was FC Inter Baku. After he had ended his football player's career, he became sport director of the club Inter. However, in summer 2006 he was appointed head coach of PFC Neftchi Baku.
