Gunung Sitoli

Gunung Sitoli is the capital city of Nias regency, North Sumatra province, Indonesia. It is located at 1°17′N 97°37′E. This is a coastal cities located in Nias island. Nias island is located in Indian Ocean, west part of Sumatra

Its area is 230.8 km². As of 2004, it has 60 villages with population of 74,203 and population density 322/km².

On 28 March 2005, the 2005 Sumatran earthquake destroyed parts of the city and caused casualties.
