Gunnel Vallquist

Gunnel Vallquist (born 19 June 1918), Swedish writer and translator, Vallquist was elected member of the Swedish Academy in 1982. Gunnel Vallquist is of the Catholic Church and has written several essays on Catholic religion of our time, among them reports from the Second Vatican Council. Her top achievement might be the translation into Swedish of the seven pieces novel In Search of Lost Time by Marcel Proust (started in 1965, completed in 1982).
