Gummidipoondi is a town in Thiruvallur district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
Gummdipoondi lies on the road from Chennai to Calcutta. This road is part of the Golden Quadrilateral which is a project launched by the Vajpayee Government. Gummidipoondi prides itself on housing two important factories, Dupont Fibers and Hitech Carbon.
