There is only one source supporting this as being an oilfield. The source cited is questionable - Wikipedia's policy predicates VERIFIABLE SOURCES . This article is written as though this is fact, although there is a dearth of any empirical evidence. Perhaps the article should be renamed to include Myth - Speculation - Conspiracy, and the source should be explained. This article is currently misleading to readers.

Yes, and it's extremely unlikely that a oil company found a world-sized oil field, and keep it secret. There is no such exemple in history, while there are numerous exemples of tha opposite (overstating reserves and production targets).
