Guillermo José Garlatti (Style: His Very Reverend Excellency, Monsignor Guillermo José Garlatti, in Latin Guglielmo Archiepiscopus Sinus Albinensis), is the Roman Catholic Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Bahía Blanca. He was born in Forgaria nel Fiurle, Udine, North of Italy on July 12, 1940. His parents and him moved to La Plata Argentina when he was a child where he completed his primary and secondary education. He is fluent in Spanish, Italian and Latin.

He studied at Seminar de La Plata being ordained as a priest on July 5, 1964 in San Cayetano Parish. He obtained a degree in Theology at Universidad Católica Argentina and was Prefect in Seminar San José.


He moved then to Jerusalem where he completed Biblical studies, subject which he then taught at Pontiff Biblical Institute of Rome.

He was ordained Bishop in 1994 with a See at Acque Regie and Associate Bishop of the Archdiocese of La Plata. On February 20, 1997 he was named Bishop of Diocese of San Rafael in Mendoza Province, Argentina.

On March 11, 2003 he was named Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Bahía Blanca (Archdioecesis Sinus Albi) succeeding HVRE Monsignor Rómulo García taking over on May 10, 2004. He is active member of the Argentinean National Episcopal Conference. His Pallium was imposed by HH Pope John Paul II in St Peter's Square, The Vatican on June 28, 2004 in a formal Mass of Imposition. His predecessors were HVRE Monsignor Rómulo García, HVRE Monsignor Jorge Mayer, HVRE Monsignor Germiniano Esorto and HVRE Monsignor Leandro B Astelarra, first Archbishop of Bahía Blanca.

The Ecclesiastical province of Bahía Blanca has the following Suffragant Sees: Diocese of Alto Valle del Río Negro, Diocese of Comodoro Rivadavia, Diocese of Río Gallegos, Diocese of San Carlos de Bariloche, Diocese of Santa Rosa and Diocese of Viedma.
