[edit] Talmud-Hirsch

Hi there. I actually didn't see your message on my talkpage until after I had responded on the Talmud talkpage, so please see my response there. I believe you are correct- the Hirsch discussion is not really relevant to the discussion on the talmud. However, I would like to point out that your comment on my talkpage is only true if you presuppose that there was a difference of opinion amongst groups in orthodoxy concerning the historical method. If that is true, than it is correct to say that Hirsch was on the "right wing" on this issue. However, if you presuppose that there was no significant difference of opinion, than it is correct to say that even Hirsch, usually open to secular knowledge, opposed the critical method, and that even those "wings" usually considered more "left" still opposed the method. Yes I pre-suppose that there was a difference of opinion among orthodox groups regarding the historical method. Havent you seen enough sources to show that there were differences? Hirsch is not of the same opinion as Chajes who in turn is not the same as Rapoport. Dovid Zvi Hoffman's work "Mar Samuel" was called Kefira beIkkar by Hirsch, but not by Nathan Marcus Adler (London). Of course there were differences - and still are!Guedalia D'Montenegro

[edit] Deleting "dedication to Halakha" citation

I copied your comments from Nkras:User talk to Talk:Conservative Judaism Nkras 03:26, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

Why would you do that? I didn't want them there.
Didn't think your post was considered to be some type of email (one of my posts were moved from another User talk section). If you intended that your post was only for me, then you should have specified. Other than that, I thought the post should have been with the rest of the discussion. The History appeared to show that User:Nkras had edited the article before you and that you deleted not only your comments, but his. If I am incorrect in this I regret the error. Best, --Shirahadasha 04:11, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
