Gudhi Padwa

Most Indian regions celebrate New Year's Day according to their regional calendars. Celebrated on the first day of Chaitra, the first month of the year, this day usually falls at the beginning of spring.

This festival is called Gudi Padwa in Maharashtra, and usually coincides with/is the same as Ugadi of the Telugu region, Poila Baisakh of Bengal, Bihu of Assam and Baisakhi of Bengal.
