Guarujá is a municipality in the São Paulo state of Brazil. The population in 2003 is 281,634, the population density is 1,969.47/km² and the area is 143 km². This place name comes from the Tupi language. The population are highly urbanized.

Guarujá is located in the Santo Amaro island. Its main economic activity is tourism, because of its oft-frequented beaches.

Guarujá is a preferred weekend destination for the wealthy families in São Paulo, that can get there driving in less than an hour (through the Imigrantes highway). Traffic might get heavy during the evening in 3-day holidays. The beach of Enseada is a hotspot for jetskying.

Guarujá has a borough called Vicente de Carvalho, in homage to the Parnassianist poet (see Parnassian).
