Guardsman

This rank title is used instead of Private for an enlisted member of a military unit (Guards or Life Guard) that was created to be the official bodyguard of a sovereign or head of state.

- The United Kingdom's Foot Guards Regiments of the Household Division.
- In Canada) the rank is used by privates in the Governor General's Foot Guards or the Canadian Grenadier Guards. The rank is considered non-gender specific and therefore applies equally to female soldiers, who are not to be called by the nonexistent "Guardswoman" or "Guardsperson". The rank badge is identical to that of a Private, to wit, a single chevron.
- Denmark's Gardehusarregimentet, an amalgamation of the Sjællandske Livregiment (Zealand Life Guards Regiment) and the Danske Livregiment (Danish Life Guards Regiment).
- Norway's Hans Majestet Kongens Garde (His Majesty's Royal Guard).
- Singapore's Guards units are elite infantry units with all men serving in them known as Guardsmen.
