Guarani is a municipality in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. The population in 2004 is 8,763. This place name comes from the Tupi language(?). Residents of this area were forced to sign a declaration that permits a cellulose firm to use the land for 20 years. The firm is financed by the World Bank.
