Grumman Ag Cat
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Grumman G-164 Ag Cat is a single-engine biplane agricultural aircraft, developed by Grumman in the 1950s. The design has been in almost continual production since 1959; Schweizer Aircraft Corporation built 2,628 under contract between 1959 and 1979. Currently the rights to the design are owned by Ag-Cat Corp, who purchased it in 1995 from Schweizer.
Initial production versions offered several types of radial engine, and later versions have been fitted with more powerful radials like the 450 hp Pratt & Whitney R-985 or turboprop engines like the 680 to 750 shp Pratt & Whitney PT6A.
