London | List of places in London |
Grove Park is an area in the south-eastern corner of the London Borough of Lewisham. Early development grew up around Grove Park railway station in the 19th century. Much of it consists of a housing estate built by the Metropolitan Borough of Lewisham in the 1920s. A workhouse was built in the area in 1902. After use by the Army during the First World War it became Grove Park hospital, which has now been redeveloped as a housing estate.
Train services from Grove Park station, operated by Southeastern, go to Bromley North, London Charing Cross and London Cannon Street stations. London buses 261 and 126 serve the bus stop outside the station; there is also a bus terminus in Baring Road near the station served by routes 136, 181, 284, and night bus N36.
