Grove Hill, Middlesbrough
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Grove Hill is a housing estate and ward of borough of Middlesbrough in the ceremonial county of North Yorkshire, England.
This area was originally an estate where the local people preferred to be, but with the local authorities decision to place problem families in one area to contain them, it became an area where no one wanted to live so the "good" families moved out and the bad moved in. In recent years parts have been demolished to be replaced by self build and private housing, this is now continuing and large parts are earmarked for demolition with the remainder to be modernised by Erimus Housing who now have the local authority's ex council houses.
The area should arise out of the ashes if the modernisation and demolition plan goes forward and Erimus Housing manages the area in a responsible manner.
