[edit] Merge votes

  • Support- but the article should be called "grills," since grills are not usually gold, and dental fillings is what I think of when you say "gold teeth." Staecker 21:06, 17 January 2006 (UTC)
  • Oppose merge. Grills is one spesific thing. Gold teeth is replacement teeth for people who have lost their original teeth. In other words, the "grills" article should be kept while the "gold teeth" article should be changed. Arnemann 18:50, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
  • Support- I just do not think that there is enough information about grills to make a separate article. I agree with Staecker in saying that the merged article should be called grills, however. AmbExThErMaL 17:59, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
  • Oppose merge. Grills and gold fillings are two different things, even when considering them both to be jewelry. sirveaux
  • Support- Since gold teeth can technically be grillz there shold only be one article named grillz but gold teeth should be mentioned in the dental fillings article. 07:51, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
  • Support- Just like Ambexthermal, I don't think there's enough information on fronts to make an entirely seperate article. I also agree with Staecker in that the merged article should be under grills. PirateMonkey
  • Oppose merge. Grills are very different from gold teeth. Grills take up the entire front row of teeth, a gold tooth can stand alone. Grills generally have elaborate engravings as well. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.210.57.9 (talkcontribs).

[edit] Copyvio problem

Image:The peoples champ cover.jpg has been used on this article to illustrate it, but its copyright notice says it is solely for the purpose of illustrating the album. This could be a violation of the copyright and possibly should be removed. Telso 19:24, 9 February 2006 (UTC)

Removed. I hope somebody can find a good replacement. Staecker 16:07, 11 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Famous people with grills?

Would it be appropriate to add a "Famous people known for their grills" section? I can only think of Chad Johnson off the top of my head but I'm sure there are tons of people of note who wear grills. StJarvitude 22:33, 8 April 2006 (UTC)

'apparati' is not a word -- the plural is apparatuses if anything, but the plural should really be avoided

lil jon is well known for his grill --68.56.0.116 14:00, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Does Nelly actually have grills?

Does Nelly actually have and wear grills regularly? He obviously appears in his Grillz song video clip with grills on, but does he own and use grills regularly? DarthVader 01:03, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] What about Wu-Tang?

While in more recent years grills have been associated with Southern, mainly houston, rappers anyone who is into rap even a bit knows Wu-tang had fronts. A lot of up north rappers had custom grills including Jay-Z, Slick Rick and others. I think this article should be more detailed and actually talk about the history of gold fronts. I am specifically talking about removable "grills" because I don't think permanent gold teeth can be considered "Grills." If we can agree on that then we can talk about 1920's Jack Johnson and his gold fronts or even prior to that.

I agree, and I added a brief reference to earlier rappers who wore them. Someone with more definitive knowledge and references may want to create a history section. -24.128.49.39 23:13, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Possible External Link Spam

I have removed the following sites from external links, since they only seem to sell grills:

User:68.51.135.24 please discuss the merits of the links. Do not delete them from my comment, especially since you added both of them. See WP:TALK I reverted by comment back. --Transfinite 22:12, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Safety / Long-term effects?

Is there any info on whether grills damage teeth over long time spans? We might want to raise (or debunk) such potential concerns about getting grills. I don't know anything about this, but I am sure someone could contribute. Amber388 16:37, 15 November 2006 (UTC) theres a link in external links, but yea, i guess we should write about the dangers...
