Non-notable?

This writer is only 30 this year and has already published three novels (one of them also tr. into French) and a play as well as holding writer-in-residence appointments at two prestigious educational institutions in the UK and taking part in the University of Iowa International Writing Project (not in article). He has also appeared in a UK TV series. I'm not sure he is so non-notable in that case. It isn't mentioned in the article (yet) but he is also a professional actor and has received awards from the Arts Council and the BBC. I'd ask how notable these people are: List_of_Big_Brother_housemates_(UK_series_7)! Why not let Gregory Norminton stay? Even if you object that the Big Brother housemates are very popular, which is true, how about Calvin_Butler_Hulbert? I think more people might be interested in Norminton. --AlexanderLondon 22:56, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

Yes, and he was previously red-linked, and it is policy to create stubs for red-linked items, so I think this article ought to stay.--Oxonian2006 17:26, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
This reads like a promotional piece written by the author or his agents. No one has heard of him or cares if he lives or dies - except his mum perhaps.
I should be surprised if G.N. or his agents even know that this is here. It does not read like a promotional piece; rather, I should suggest that it describes somebody who has achieved quite a lot in a fairly brief period of time. I wonder if the person who wrote that comment would be able to tell us how many novels, plays, and short stories he (or she) has published, at which universities he has held appointments, which national literary awards he has received, how many television appearances he has made, or which political party have listed him on its website in a list of names including Richard Doll, Richard Dawkins, and Germaine Greer. Further, it is very insulting to say that nobody cares if he lives or dies. "Any man's death diminishes me" (John Donne).--195.92.67.75 08:23, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
He would seem to know that this is here now. He has revised the article himself. mholland 21:26, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
