The 1888 Blizzard was also a major storm on the Great Plains, which isn't made clear in this article. Also, the book THE LONG WINTER by Laura Ingalls Wilder was not about the 1888 storm, but about the 1881 winter... Trish Lewis 07:01, 16 January 2006 (UTC)

You are quite correct about The Long Winter. Indeed, I reached the same conclusion before reading your comment here. I will remove that reference from the text of the article. I'd suggest that you locate some references about the effects of this storm in the Midwest, and feel free to add that content. --DavidK93 18:58, 31 January 2006 (UTC)

The Plains blizzard of 1888 was a completely different storm, occurring in January 1888. -24.98.113.79 03:46, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
