Gretchen Peters (born 14 November 19?? in Bronxville, New York) is primarily a country music songwriter and singer. Her songs have been performed by better known artists such as Martina McBride, Trisha Yearwood, Patty Loveless, Faith Hill and Pam Tillis among others. She has also written songs with rocker Bryan Adams that appears on both her and his albums. Gretchen Peters started to compose music with Bryan Adams with the song "Rock Steady", which was a duet with Bryan Adams and Bonnie Raitt on her Road Tested tour in 1995. Apart from composing songs for other artists, she has also recorded a number of own albums.

Peters was raised in Boulder, Colorado and now lives in Nashville. She has won the Country Music Association's Song Of The Year in 1995. Gretchen Peters was also a two-time Grammy Song of the Year nominee.
