Gregor Samsa

Gregor Samsa is a fictional character in The Metamorphosis, a novella by Franz Kafka, who tries to live his life after having been transformed into a large bug. He is a travelling salesman. Contrary to popular belief, the author never states that Gregor Samsa was transformed specifically into a cockroach. (The opening line is paraphrased in the film The Producers (1968), which may partly account for the misunderstanding.)
Apache Xalan, an XSLT processor, names its default "translet" class "GregorSamsa", as a reference to this character.
