[edit] Plot

Jimmy is teaching the kids craps. Kim and Christine catch him and yell at him. Greg comes home and announces that he got two tickets to the Jazz Festival. He asks who is going to go, but everyone comes up with an excuse. Kim asks Greg to call a friend to go with him. Greg says he will. Jimmy asks Greg who his other friends are. Greg has lunch with the other employees and asks if anyone wants to go to the Jazz Festival. One of the employees says that his wife would love to go. When Greg tells him he has to go with him. The employee turns him down.

That night, Greg attempts to call his friend Jeff, but the person that answers the phone only speaks Spanish. Greg tells Kim that he doesn’t have any friends. Jimmy suggests looking in the personal section of the newspaper for friends seeking friends. They see someone in the paper that likes the blues and jazz, but Greg says he can make his own friends.

They go out to eat at a bar when Christine, Jimmy, and Kim tell Greg that they called the guy from the newspaper and that he is waiting at the bar. Greg doesn’t want to talk to him. He sees a cool guy and goes over and starts playing pool with him. Jimmy decides to let the newspaper guy down easy. He pretends to be Greg and goes over to the bar. He tells him that he sweats a lot, he then fingers all the hot wings, and drinks the guy’s beer. The guy excuses himself to go to the bathroom and runs out the door. Greg announces that the cool guy gave him his phone number.

Greg is getting ready to go out with his friend. When the friend shows up they go to a tattoo parlor. Greg is talking about earrings and when his back is turned the lady that works there takes the piecing gun and gives Greg an earring. When he gets home, Kim touches his ear and he yells, she tells him it looks infected. The friend shows up and they decide to meet at a club at 12:30AM. Greg falls asleep in his car waiting for him to show and the car is towed with him inside. The friend shows up that morning and tells Greg that he isn’t going to be able to go to the Jazz Festival. Greg decides to go alone and sell the ticket. At the Jazz Festival, Greg has a sign that says “Need a Ticket” and the guy from the bar has a sign that says “Have a Ticket”. Greg and the guy meet and they go together after all.
