Greenwich Millennium Village

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Greenwich Millennium Village (GMV) is an innovative modern urban village in London, designed by architects Ralph Erskine and partners with EPR Architects Ltd as executive architect as part of the regeneration of the whole of Greenwich Peninsula, home of the Millennium Dome.

Now established on the southern banks of the Thames, about one mile upstream from the Thames Barrier and adjacent to its own purpose-built Ecology Park and recreational areas, the village boasts a modern transportation system which includes North Greenwich tube station on the Jubilee Line and provides access to Central London in less than 25 minutes.

Currently the village has 670 residences of modern, environmentally friendly design and is planned to grow steadily over the next 5-7 years with their own integrated village shopping and community centres.
