Greenhills, East Kilbride

Greenhills is an area of the Scottish new town East Kilbride, in South Lanarkshire.
Greenhills is a residential area on the southern edge of the town.
The Greenhills shopping centre is situated adjacent to the highest point in East Kilbride, known locally as the High Point, and is the terminus for many of the local bus services from Glasgow and the Town Centre.
The Greenhills area is represented at South Lanarkshire level by councillor Archie Buchanan, of the Scottish National Party, who had previously served on the now defunct East Kilbride Town Council.
Until 2004, Greenhills was served by two secodary schools, Ballerup and St Andrews. These schools have since been merged as part of East Kilbride's school modernisation programme.
Notable Grenhillians include Lorraine Kelly, star of ITV's breakfast television and some members of the band, the Jesus and Mary Chain.
