Green is the colour was a song written and performed by the English rock band, Pink Floyd and appeared on the soundtrack album, Music from the Film More. The lyrics were written by Roger Waters and sung by David Gilmour. The song was performed live on numerous occasions from about 1968 to 1971. It appeared on The Man And The Journey live suite where it was called "the beginning". It was also played at the Midsummer High Weekend in 1968. It is a warm ballad and one of the few love songs that the band actually wrote.
