Great Sankey High School

Great Sankey High School is a high school in Great Sankey, Cheshire located on Barrow Hall Lane. The school has a single floor and was originally built in the late 1970s. In 1998 it had major extensions built including a Humanities block. A Mathematics block was added in 2002. The school also has a sixth-form college, Barrow Hall College, linking leisure centre and theatre. The school is twinned with South Peninsula High School in Cape Town, South Africa. The school has recently updated Barrow Hall College, adding a new front entrance and expanding the common room. GSHS was one of the first schools in the UK to be awarded an Artsmark Gold award.

In 2004, the school achieved Specialist Status in the field of Engineering and has since increased the provision of Engineering within its curriculum. There are now a number of high schools in the United Kingdom with specialist status.
