Great Baddow High School

Great Baddow High School is a secondary school in Chelmsford, Essex, England. The ages of pupils range from 11 - 16 years old and students in Sixth Form ages from 16 onwards. In September 2002 the school was named a "Sports College" where children benefit from the wide range of sports.

Blazer - black with school badge Trousers - black, classic style with front crease Skirt - black, box-pleated, approximately knee length, (all years) Skirt - black, straight, approximately knee length, with kick pleat (years 9, 10 and 11 only) Shirt - white, in a style that allows a tie to be worn School tie Black Gold and Blue Striped (Year 7-9), Black with Golden Eagle (Year 10 and 11) Pulover - black, v-neck with school crest - available from school Socks - black or white Tights - plain, flesh-coloured or black Footwear - formal and sensible black shoes - no trainers

There is no requirement for specific uniform for Sixth Form. They are requested to wear smart casual clothing.

Girls

Sixth Form can wear black tracksuit bottoms or black shorts with a white T-Shirt

== School Life ==

When Entering the school there are 4 Houses which students are divided into: North - blue South - yellow East - red West - green The purpose of this is for sporting competitions including sports day and interhouse event and social competitive activities including quizzes.

Throughout the year students work towards awards including bronze silver and gold awards (Yr7-9) and Credits in Years 10 and 11.

== Catering ==

In September 2006 a new menu was introduced including a new salad bar. Chips are now served a maximum 2 times a week with a World Food Day on Fridays and Roast Dinner on Thursdays. Breakfast Club is open 7:30 to 8:30 for students especially those who've attending the morning clubs.

2006 NOV: The Talent Show 2006

   This year's theme is ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ Auditions will take 

place in mid-September, with the two performance evenings in November.

DEC: 1001 Arabian Nights

   Pantomime comes to Great Baddow for the first time. 

2007

JAN: Shell Connections National Theatre Festival

   Play to be confirmed. Once again Great Baddow will enter the 

competition sponsored by Shell Plc.

FEB: BBC Shakespeare Festival- HENRY V

   This year our submission to the BBC festival will have a modern 

sports setting to reflect our sports college status. Henry leads his basketball team to Victory over the opposing side. This play will be performed at Great Baddow High School followed by performances at our local primary schools and then at the Civic Theatre, Chelmsford.

APR: West Side Story

   The Bernstein classic will be performed after the Easter holiday. 

JUNE: Antigone

   Sophocles’ classic anti war tragedy updated with a twist on 

costume. A compelling story of the tragedy of war. The will of the state pitted against the emotional power of a family.

JULY: Summer Production- to be confirmed
