[edit] HKWNB, HKCOTW, Current events

Hi. Thanks for your contributions to some Hong Kong-related articles. You might be interested to take a look at HK wikipedians' notice board, HK Collaboration of the Week and Current events in Hong Kong and Macao. Happy editing! — Instantnood 18:58, Jun 22, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] VfD

Grandcru, you've voted twice in the VfD for Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Yale Precision Marching Band. Did you mean to? You also didn't give a reason, and while it's not compulsory it is helpful. -Splash 00:04, Jun 24, 2005 (UTC)

No problem, thanks for fixing it.-Splash 00:38, Jun 24, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Your queries

Guess you must be having great time on Wikipedia. There's no general board for Asia, but there are several notice boards for various Asian countries, such as China, India, Japan, Korea, Singapore, etc. For the VFD, didn't it work on already? :-D In case your vote doesn't show up try reloading the page, or purge the page by using the following url, replace NAMESPACE:PAGENAME : http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=NAMESPACE:PAGENAME&action=purge . Enjoy~ — Instantnood 00:33, Jun 24, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] my reverts

GrandCru,

I don't really agree with some of your edits. It seems that they mostly reflect your point of view, and some are even incorrect, such as at Taiwan, you said that Taiwan is occasionally used to refer to the ROC. Where I come from when people speak of Taiwan they are talking about the country governed by the ROC, not just the geographical island itself. --User:Hottentot

I'd be happy to. For Taiwan:

  • At the top of the page, you replaced "state commonly known as" with "government of". The article Republic of China is not just about the government, it is about the nation, its history, etc.
  • (The next edit is explained above about "occasionally" vs. "commonly")
  • You replaced "Kuomintang" with "ruling Kuomintang". Is this relevant?
  • (Your next edit on Taiwan, concerning Taiwan being transformed, is fine. Sorry about that one.)

For Economy of Taiwan & Mainland China

  • I must have messed up on these ones. I don't know why I reverted.

For History of Hong Kong

  • Where 2.5 million people really there? I don't recall it was that many.

P.S. For Ami, I added in the template Template:Taiwanese aborigines at the bottom. Actually, I guess you didn't know this, but there was already an Ami article before you created it. It was under Amis (ethnic), and I knew that the more common title was Ami, so I just merged the stuff from Amis and redirected it to Ami.

Sorry if I pissed you off with my reverts. That was not my intention. --User:Hottentot

The DPP article seems to have stabilized into something not too bad. One of the ironies is that the Bobbybuilder makes Lien Chan sound like a crazy lunatic.

As far as the Kuomintang article, unfortunately I agree with Bodybuilder's latest edits more so than yours. To start off with, the KMT may have a reproachment with the CCP, but they are certainly not communist-leaning (in fact its arguable whether or not the CCP is really communist).

The heading KMT in ROC makes no sense as ROC definitely included Nanking in 1935 and it doesn't make a good distinction between before and after 1949.

If there are any other edits you want to be review, please let me know.

[edit] Re: Kuomintang

In response to [1].

Thanks. However, if it were up to me I wouldn't post critisisms sections under any of the political articles due to the risk of it turning into a soap box. I'd like to stress that I only intervened because some of the articles on political parties in Taiwan seemed to be becoming more partisan. It seemed unfair and indicative of possible bias to have critisisms of some political parties while leaving out others. Naturally, the "Criticisms" section on the KMT article must also include the points from the KMT POV to be fair, this is a slippery path we're going down. -Loren 8 July 2005 04:05 (UTC)

[edit] Wang Yuan-lu

Any particular reason you want "Dang Wang" in this article? -- 2412 talk 04:14, July 14, 2005 (UTC)

  • Eh, just curious, that's all. -- 2412 talk 04:17, July 14, 2005 (UTC)

GrandCru,

If you have a chance, I would appreciate it if you would stop by the Lost Liberty Hotel article and provide your input into an ongoing POV dispute there. User:OtisTDog 01:02 August 6, 2005 (UTC)
