[edit] Images for deletion

I've put up Image:Jeskid_news_larger.jpg, Image:Jeskid News.jpg, Image:Oscar sog.jpg, Image:Linda sog.jpg, Image:Victor sog.jpg, Image:Jed sog2.jpg, Image:Dave sog.jpg, Image:Guy sog.jpg, Image:Billy redneck.jpg, Image:Chris sog.jpg, Image:Charlie sog.jpg, Image:Eric.jpg, Image:Motherfucker seen.JPG for deletion as they are no longer being used (see Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion/2006 May 1). If you feel that some of them could be used in the Shades of Gray article, then please use them there (and mention so on the IFD page). If you intend on re-using Motherfucker seen.JPG, however, I would suggest re-uploading with a less offensive name, as it may get deleted or renamed based purely on the filename.--Drat (Talk) 06:37, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

I hope you don't mind a third opinion, since I'm on this page: WP:NOT#Wikipedia is not censored. --HughCharlesParker (talk - contribs) 21:31, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Adblock

You left a comment at Talk:Adblock#Filterset.G. I reformatted it in a more wiki way and moved it to be part of the discussion. I hope you don't mind. --HughCharlesParker (talk - contribs) 21:16, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] ...and finally...

Welcome!
Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:

  • Please respect others' copyrights; do not copy and paste the contents from webpages directly.
  • Please use a neutral point of view when editing articles; this is possibly the most important Wikipedia policy.
  • If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
  • Do not add unreasonable contents into any articles, such as: copyrighted text, advertisement messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Adding such unreasonable information or otherwise editing articles maliciously is considered vandalism, and will result in your account being blocked.
  • Please use the edit summary box when you're editing - it really helps the counter-vandalism unit.

The Wikipedia Tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. Again, welcome! --HughCharlesParker (talk - contribs) 21:37, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:Jennifer morrison.jpg

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Jennifer morrison.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 20:14, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:EMH2.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:EMH2.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 15:05, 9 July 2006 (UTC)
