I think that less than 90% move on to higher education (assuming that means college, internship, etc.) According to about.com it is true, though I know the enrollment numbers on about.com are outdated. http://experts.about.com/e/g/gr/Grand_Ledge,_Michigan.htm

The discussion of Grand Blanc as an "historical" [sic] city is rife with both grammatical errors as well as what seems to me to be an NPOV violation (but I am relatively new here). I am not from Grand Blanc so I am not prepared to edit this, however. -- AppleFan84
Actually the City is called Grand Ledge and I don't know about the grammer part. However, I am sure that every city is historic, so this must be a historic city. Although it may be redundant to say so.

I didn't think the section was terrible, personally, so I did a quick edit to were I thought it was suitable for grammar as well as NPOV.
All I was getting at when I flagged it was that it sounded a lot more like a travel advertisement for the town, not a neutrally worded encyclopedia entry. --AppleFan84
Hmmm...yeah, I see your point. But I figured that if someone took the time to write it up, why not leave it in. It's not like they were saying "this place rocks the whole planet, ,everyone should come", they just wrote it from the point of view that people from grand ledge take pride in their town, and even though I'm not from there, I notice this pride when I am in town. There are more articles on wikipedia that support this "touristy" POV, albeit not to the same extent. Search for "Omer, michigan" for a small example.
But, I agree with your statement and I, like yourself, am fairly new to Wikipedia, and would more than welcome a more experienced editor to make a call beyond mine that it is acceptable for Wikipedia.

Holy POV, Batman. This article looks like a 10th grader's expository writing term paper, prior to final proofreading.
And mentioning Mr. Kaufman, but no Harvey Benstein?
My favorite part of the article is this one: "...Walmart constructed a storefront on the East side of the city, attracting many residents who don't care about China's human rights issues or about supporting union workers; there are many such residents in Grand Ledge."
- Walmarnt isn't even in Grand Ledge, it's in Delta Township, tought it is in the Grand Ledge School district. Maybe East of Grand Ledge but not "on" the East side of the city.
[edit] Major problems
This article was shot through with major POV and relevance issues. It seemed to be a low-grade edit war between residents who wanted to promote the town and residents (mostly apparently teenagers) who don't like living there. Most of the anonymous edits are junk, of course. If you want a good laugh, scroll through the chronological versions of this article on its history tab.
I have removed large chunks of the article for relevance and POV issues.
I think sections focussed on the town's history and on the Ledges, which are geologically significant, would be useful additions to the article. Any material added to the article should be sourced to something more concrete than the residents' feelings about the town.Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia: POV will help explain where this article went wrong. --JChap 06:01, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
