Proposing to move according to his own official website, a google search, and following the naming on Wikipedia for higher clergy such as cardinals and patriarchs, see also Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani for example. Gryffindor 02:05, 6 January 2006 (UTC)

Typo? "Grand Ayatallah Fazel Lankarani " All other spellings are Ayatollah I'm going to change the spelling - please revert if I'm mistaken? J 02:28, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

I think you're right to change as this is the most common spelling. My understanding is that it means Sign of God - "Ayat" = Sign "o" = of "Allah" = God; sometimes it can be transliterated in other ways hence Ayatallah but we should stick with the most common way AndrewRT(Talk) 18:36, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
