Are we sure of the WG Grace connection? I can't find a reference to it anywhere Bedders 11:40, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

E E Snow's "History of Leicestershire Cricket" published in 1949 states that the name may have come from WG Grace, but was more likely from the name of a local landowner (also the ground was called Aylestone or confusingly Aylestone Road in its early days).--Jedikiah 10:53, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

Leicestershire's owners seem very reluctant to make any significant investment, and there is little demand for two test match venues in the East Midlands.
