[edit] Minor style/meaning changes
It's the easiest thing in the world to say that "she made her living by writing"; but what is more interesting to say is that she found a way to survive, as was necessary, in the career of a writer: and to say it concisely without making her sound too passive. It also explains her choice of subjects in her last book, whence the connection and the semicolon. There must be an even better way of phrasing it, but it shouldn't be flattened to "she made her living by writing".... On the other hand, she was buried after she died, of course, which need not be said! Bill 19:56, 3 October 2005 (UTC)
