Grant Mulvey
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Grant Mulvey (born September 17, 1956 in Sudbury, Ontario, but grew up in Penticton, British Columbia) is a retired professional ice hockey player who played all but twelve games of his 586-game NHL career with the Chicago Black Hawks. He had a reputation as a physical winger with a knack for scoring garbage goals in front of the net, recording 39 in 1979-80, his best season. Late in his career he struggled with injuries and played briefly for the New Jersey Devils before being forced to retire. He's famous for hitting Wayne Gretzky and many considered him to have broken an unwritten rule that you don't hit Gretzky and he never was given a legitimate shot to make the NHL again, after that incident.
