[edit] Plot summary
Sunday evening 8:38 PM Eric is driving Grandma home after another Sunday she spent with them. She asks him if he likes it when she comes to visit. Eric tells her that he doesn’t like her criticizing his mom every time she visits. He tells her she’s nasty and it wouldn’t kill her to be nice for a whole day. Immediately after, she dies and falls on his shoulder. Eric comes back home. Kitty is busy cleaning and being upset after dealing with Grandma once again, when Eric shows Red & Kitty Grandma’s dead body in the car.
Laurie comes home during finals and really doesn’t seem to care either way. Kitty goes into a cooking craze telling the family that busy hands are happy hands. Red & Eric suppress their feelings, even after Donna tries to get Eric to talk about it. Uncle Marty comes home having heard the news and cries a lot much to his brother Red’s ridicule. Eric & the guys go to a bar with help from Hyde’s fake ID and a cover of being in the military. They meet two girls, Charlotte and Charlene, who start flirting with them. Two guys come in telling them to get away from their girls. Eric stands up to one of them and starts poking him saying he’s looking for trouble. He punches Eric, knocking him out. After which the guy asks for any other takers and the rest of the guys, except Fez, jump him. Eric comes home later to see Kitty still cooking. They see Eric’s black eye. Red sends everyone off to bed and hands Eric a beer.
The next scene involves Grandma's funeral featuring an open casket sequence. Each cast member is shown looking into the casket from Grandma's point of view while the viewers can hear their thoughts. This is followed by Jackie and Kelso retreating to the coat closet and Donna talking to Eric about the size of the guy(s) involved in the bar fight. Red's brother Marty also cries yet again at an emotional comment from Fez about his mother.
While playing with a train set left over from Grandma, Red tells Eric how special Grandma treated him. He says that the last thing he told her was to show him tail lights, which he says as if he’s about to cry. Eric then finally tells him the last thing he said to Grandma. His dad laughs at the irony and says that it’s OK. Kitty then comes in with a depressed look on her face, telling them that she ran out of flour and eggs, and the three of them hug finally dealing with it.
